Pronunciation

My name is not the easiest to pronounce but the info below may help you a little.

In everyday interactions I encourage everyone to call me Gosia. If you're an English native speaker try to say "Go-sha" -- this should do. A Polish speaker would normally say it like in this.

The full version of my first name is Małgorzata, and that name will sometimes be used for official government documentation or journal publications. In everyday language Gosia is a perfectly legitimate short version of Małgorzata (just like Bob for Robert, etc.) so you don't really need to know how to pronounce the full name. However, If you are in need of some linguistic torture, try saying "Mal-go-sha-ta" or check out these audio files.

Finaly the surname Gocłowska reads like "Gotz-woff-ska".

Congratulations! You are now a PRO at reading Polish names!

Next step is to learn how to order a beer! :-)
